Retro is cool, but not when it comes to technology. That's why we're excited to launch a new and improved employee intranet. If it looks familiar, that's because it's built on the same platform as our city website. This way, staff in all departments already know how to use it and can easily keep it up to date.
We'll be constantly tweaking and refining the site and (spoiler alert) it's not going to be perfect on day one.Take a look around and get familiar with the layout. If you can't find something or have suggestions, email communications@carlsbadca.gov.
Here's a quick tour:
Forms and Apps
You talked, we listened. Most of us use the intranet to get forms, templates and apps. It might take a little time for you to get used to where these things are, and we can move them around if after a few weeks it's still not feeling intuitive.

Newsfeed
We've put top news on the home page and a complete archive of news for employees on the "all news" page.

Search by Category
On the All News page, you can sort stories by category.

Get Social
Do you follow your city on social media? Well, you do now. Check out this page for the latest posts to Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Of course, you can follow us for real -- click on the links.

Virtual Suggestion Box
Maybe someday we'll all work in the same building (or the same "quadrant") but for now, we'll settle for a virtual suggestion box. This is a place where you can submit ideas to the city manager -- trends, suggestions for streamlining, ways to improve communication -- bring it on!
