Hi everyone. A few months ago we asked all city employees to provide feedback on our internal communication efforts. I wanted to share a few thoughts about communication and let you know about some new initiatives we’ve been working on.
Intranet
By now, I hope everyone has had a chance to check out our new intranet. Please check back often – ideally first thing as you start your day – to find out what’s going on around the city.
Virtual Suggestion Box
We’ve also heard that you’d like more opportunities to share your ideas and input. Please take advantage of our “virtual suggestion box.” I review all the submissions personally, and it’s been so valuable to see what’s on your mind and get suggestions from all levels of the organization. (P.S. If you're ever having a bad day, visit our new "City Pets" page to see one of the "fun" suggestions made by an employee. I guarantee it will make you smile.)
City Manager Roundtables
I’ve made it out to most of the city facilities by now, and I want to make sure there are ongoing opportunities to connect. I’ll be bringing back the city manager roundtable discussions, starting Thursday, Oct. 25, 3 p.m., at Faraday room 173A. Please email Morgen Fry if you plan to come so she can get the room set up for us.
Team Carlsbad Videos
A big thank you to all the employees who have volunteered to be featured in our new “Team Carlsbad” video series. Please be on the look out for new episodes. This is a great way to learn more about our organization and get to know employees from other departments.
Text Messages
We are piloting a new text message service that will let you keep up with what’s going on around the city on your mobile device. Just text “InsideCbad” to 797979 to sign up or visit the text sign up page on the intranet. https://www.insidecarlsbad.com/text-signup
