Recording of COVID-19 vaccine and variant town hall

The city hosted doctors Gary M. Vilke, MD and Christian Sloane, MD to talk about COVID-19 vaccines and variants. Both doctors serve as the medical directors for the North Zone Joint Powers Authority, which is the organizational partnership for all north zone fire agencies, which includes Carlsbad Fire Department.

Gary M. Vilke, MD, is a board-certified emergency medicine physician, the medical director of Risk Management at UC San Diego Health, the medical director of the Carlsbad Fire Department and AirLink Air Ambulance., a professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine and the director of Clinical Research UC San Diego School of Medicine. Christian Sloane, MD, is an emergency medicine doctor, a full-time faculty member at UCSD, the medical team manager for San Diego’s Urban Search and Rescue Team, a member of the Disaster Medical Assistance Team, the Associate Residency Director of Quality Assurance and Improvement, the medical director for Mercy Air Services in San Diego and Imperial counties, and the director of the North County Dispatch Joint Powers Authority.
