City to Work With Community on Future Plans for Village H

During an update at Tuesday's City Council meeting, the Carlsbad City Council directed staff to work collaboratively with the community to develop options for the future use of 22.5 acres of land at the southeast corner of Carlsbad Village Drive and Victoria Lane in the Calavera Hills neighborhood. The city is taking ownership of the property as part of a lawsuit settlement over the Quarry Creek housing development.


Connected Carlsbad Roadmap Kicks Off

The Carlsbad City Council received an update Tuesday about staff's efforts to develop Connected Carlsbad: An Inclusive Smart Community Roadmap. The plan is designed to provide a high-level, organized guide to the work the city will do in using data and technology to improve service and community engagement.

National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, 4/27

On Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the City of Carlsbad Police Department will be participating in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. Take-back days give the public an opportunity to prevent prescription drug abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous, expired, unused and unwanted prescription medications.

Carlsbad Village Street Faire 5/5, Some Roads Closed

Several streets in Carlsbad Village will be closed Sunday, May 5, to make way for the Carlsbad Village Street Faire, a community event featuring more than 800 vendors, live entertainment, food and kids' rides.

Celebrate Arbor Day, Plant a Tree, 4/27

The City of Carlsbad is celebrating Arbor Day, Saturday, April 27, by working with local volunteers to plant trees along the Coastal Rail Trail beginning at its intersection with Oak Avenue.
