Airport Master Plan Update
At their meeting on Oct. 10, 2018, the County Board of Supervisors took the following action related to the Airport Master Plan for McClellan-Palomar Airport:

Read the latest issue of Carlsbad Currents to find out how to sign up for emergency alerts, defend your home against wildfires, get your emergency kit together and more. Carlsbad Currents comes out every other month and is mailed to Carlsbad Municipal Water District customers in their water bills, mailed directly to non CMWD customers, and available at city libraries and community centers.
Complete Rail Closures This Weekend
There will be no coastal rail service this weekend, Oct. 13-14, so crews can make improvements along the LOSSAN rail line. An additional rail closure is planned for Oct. 20-21. Projects that will be worked on include the San Elijo Lagoon Double Track Project, Poinsettia Station Improvements Project, San Diego River Bridge Double Track Project, and the Elvira to Morena Double Track Project. Service is expected to resume in time for your Monday morning commute.
Pumpkin Plunge at Alga Norte Aquatic Center, 10/20
Enjoy Halloween themed pool activities and games during the City of Carlsbad's Pumpkin Plunge at Alga Norte Aquatic Center at 6565 Alicante Road on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 5 to 9 p.m. Cost is $10 per person and children ages 3 and under are free.
Celebrate Dia de los Muertos, 10/27-28
On Oct. 27 and 28, the City of Carlsbad's Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park will feature the sights, sounds and tastes of Dia del los Muertos, a traditional Mexican holiday that celebrates, remembers and honors those who have departed.
