"Expressive Activities" Permit Process Online Survey

The City of Carlsbad would like to know what the public thinks about a proposed new permit process for groups wishing to engage in "expressive activities" on city property.


Latest Carlsbad Currents

Read the latest issue of Carlsbad Currents to find out about the new community center, Carlsbad Reads Together, upcoming events and more. Carlsbad Currents comes out every other month and is mailed to Carlsbad Municipal Water District customers in their water bills, mailed directly to non Carlsbad Municipal Water District customers, and available at city libraries and community centers.


New Online Registration System

The City of Carlsbad is pleased to announce that a new, upgraded online registration/reservation system for parks and recreation activities, classes and services will soon be available. The new online registration system will be more user friendly, optimized for mobile, more intuitive with better search capability, and will also allow residents to book facility reservations for Parks & Recreation and Library & Cultural Arts, making it a one-stop shopping experience.

Free Tax Assistance at Library

The Carlsbad City Library Learning Center, in partnership with the nonprofit organization AARP, will provide tax assistance on Wednesdays, Feb. 6 through April 10 at the Library Learning Center, located at 3368 Eureka Place. Participation is free and registration is requested, though walk-ins are also welcome from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Carlsbad Reads Together

Carlsbad Reads Together brings community member together and engages them in discussion about the same selection of books at the same time. Join us in celebrating the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley's classic Frankenstein by reading The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein by Kiersten White, her reimagining of the classic story.
