Terramar Area Improvements Chosen

Following three years of technical studies and input from the community, the Carlsbad City Council decided Tuesday to take the next step on a series of traffic and safety improvements to the area around Carlsbad Boulevard and Cannon Road.

Night Work on New I-5 Carpool Lanes to Begin Dec. 2 in Carlsbad

Construction crews are set to begin night work the week of Dec. 2, to extend a HOV/Carpool Lane on Interstate 5 in each direction between Manchester Avenue in the City of Encinitas, and Palomar Airport Road in the City of Carlsbad. The work will occur between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. over eight to 10 weeks, excluding Friday and Saturday nights and holidays.

The Carlsbad Police Department wants to share safe holiday package shipping and delivery information to promote a safe and crime-free holiday season. Package delivery services expect to deliver 527 million packages between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. More and more shoppers are staying at home and purchasing gifts on the Internet.
