Thanksgiving Holiday Schedule
In observance of Thanksgiving, city offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 22, and Friday, Nov. 23. A full holiday schedule for city services is listed below:

I-5 Construction Moves North to Carlsbad
In late November 2018, Caltrans and the San Diego Association of Governments will begin construction to extend the carpool lane on I-5 in each direction between Manchester Avenue in the City of Encinitas, and Palomar Airport Road in the City of Carlsbad.

City Council Decision on Terramar Project scheduled for 11/27
On Nov. 27, the Carlsbad City Council will consider options for improving safety and traffic flow in the area around Carlsbad Boulevard and Cannon Road, using traffic signals, roundabouts or a combination of the two.

5 Tips to Avoid a Visit From the Plumber This Season
Unless a plumber is on your Thanksgiving guest list, the City of Carlsbad urges residents to take care when disposing of greasy food scraps this holiday season, or risk expensive and messy sewer pipe backups. Soap, detergents and bleach only temporarily cut the grease. Fat, oil and grease eventually attach to the walls of sewer pipes. Buildup of grease in sewer pipes is the number one cause of sewage spills.

The City of Carlsbad's Winter/Spring Community Services Guide is now available for viewing online. Check out adult and youth classes, preschool, fun things to do, sports leagues, senior activities, special events, cultural arts, library programs and more! Registration begins Dec. 3.
