As part of the city’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, we are forming a committee of city staff to help guide efforts in these areas. Criteria and committee responsibilities
To be eligible to serve, employees must have performance in good standing with no disciplinary actions in the last year. Committee members will:
Attend committee meetings and be prepared to engage.
Attend and participate in committee sponsored events, training and retreats whenever possible.
Interact with the broader city team outside of committee meetings to hear concerns, thoughts and ideas.
Report back to the committee information gleaned from outside meetings and conversations.
Share information from the committee with their employee contacts.
Our consultant, The Centre of Organization Effectiveness, will work with Human Resources to review applications and assemble a diverse committee of up to 12 members, taking into consideration demographics, department representation, position, and applicant skills and attributes. Initial topics the committee will discuss include:
The term of membership
The committee year (fiscal, calendar, etc.)
Expected time commitment (estimated to be approximately five hours per month)
Meeting frequency, dates and times
Necessary trainings and events
