Hi Team Carlsbad,
We are excited to announce that the city will recognize Take Your Kid to Work Day on Thursday, April 27. Each department is encouraged to make their own arrangements and put together activities to promote this day.
Participating staff taking their kid to work must complete this waiver, save the form and submit it to their supervisor no later than Wednesday, April 26, 2023. Supervisors will then send completed forms to Risk Management: DEPT_Risk@CarlsbadCA.gov.
We hope this is a special day for kids and parents to remember, and perhaps the start of career aspirations for the next generation of city leaders!

Parks & Recreation and Library & Cultural Arts
P&R will open the upstairs activity area in the Pine Ave Community Center to all staff and their kids, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Staff will provide and host table games, video games, music, books, a variety of sort-of-healthy snacks, drinks and other fun activities for all ages.
L&CA has programming for the community that might interest staff and their families including:
Storytime Theater at Dove – 10:30 a.m. (for families with children 2-5 yrs of age)
Toddler Time at Learning Center – 10:30 a.m. (for ages 18-36 months)
STEM Builder’s Club at Dove – 3:30 p.m. (ages 5 and up)
There is also passive programming at L&CA including:
StoryWalks at all 3 locations
Scavenger Hunt in Dove Childrens
Cannon Gallery art exhibit at Dove
Sculpture Garden at Cole
Tic Tac Toe for Carlsbad Reads Together at all three locations
Poetry corner in Dove Children’s
Information Technology
IT will be offering two datacenter tours on April 27th at 1pm and 4pm. If you wish to attend, please bring them to the open area in IT at the time indicated.
In addition, all kids are invited to attend the Technology Users Group (TUG) meeting via MS Teams. Please email Maria Callander if they wish to attend and we will send you an invite and make an announcement and introduce all the kids that are attending.
