The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion committee is inviting all staff members to share about their current lived experiences related to DE&I as a city employee and help identify areas for growth, improvement, cultivating ideas and where the DE&I committee should focus future efforts.
One of the committee’s goals is to gain insight on how to proceed with the DE&I work plan activities to maximize support and acceptance by employees throughout the organization.
Members of the DE&I committee will facilitate respectful, open conversations using guidelines and open-ended questions.
Who: All staff, full time and part time
When: Attend one of the following 90-minute sessions:
Thursday, Oct. 27, 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Faraday Conference Room 173A
Wednesday, Nov. 2, 3 – 4:30 p.m. at Senior Center, 799 Pine Avenue
Tuesday, Nov. 8, 8:30 – 10 a.m. via Teams (Link will be sent to registrants)

Are these meetings on paid time?
Attendance and participation are based on operational needs of the department. Please work with your supervisor for approval to attend during your paid work shift. If employees are off schedule at the time of the event, including lunch period, they will attend on their own unpaid time.
What is the purpose of this meeting?
The input gathered at this meeting will be used to glean information about what is working well and identifying growth opportunities. A board or flip chart may be used to aid in activities. Collective input will be evaluated to measure success and develop next steps.
How big will the groups be?
Groups will be limited to 30 attendees.
Will the Teams session be recorded?
No. There will be no video or audio recordings of any focus group meeting.
