Due to the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Senior Center is collecting donated gifts and goodies this holiday season to brighten the holiday season for seniors registered for our home meal delivery lunch program. Most of these homebound individuals rely on our help for a hot meal and some social interaction. A small gift would surely brighten their day!
The Senior Center is collecting donations and recommends donating simple items such as the following:
notecards/note pads
slippers
soft/fuzzy blankets
ornaments
toiletries and personal care items
stationary with stamped envelopes
scented or unscented hand soap or lotion in a pump container
gift cards – for groceries, restaurants or Amazon
Please drop off donated items at the Carlsbad Senior Center, 799 Pine Avenue, between 11 a.m. and noon or send via interoffice by 5 p.m. by Thursday, Dec. 17. Gifts with meals will be delivered Dec. 21 – 24.
The gift can be unwrapped and any gifts we receive before Dec. 8, will be wrapped at our “Virtual Holiday Wrap-Up” zoom party with other seniors on Wednesday, Dec. 9, from noon to 1 p.m. If you want to join us, please let us know and we’ll send you a zoom link or you can register here. All ages welcome!
